Mystery Washi Tape Grab Bag (1 Per Customer)
Due to high demand, limits of 1 per customer (not per order) will be strictly enforced. Orders will be vetted, and any excess purchased will be refunded from orders directly.
This is a mystery grab bag containing 4 rolls of our or older washi tapes.
Over the past few years, we have accumulated small quantities of random washi designs. This could be due to returned orders, cancelled orders, randomly finding a tube somewhere, etc. Due to the very limited quantities per design, our team put together several hundred grab bags with mixed designs instead of scattered listings with little inventory. Please note the following:
- Washi tapes include designs dating back to 2019, up to 2024, and all the years in between.
- We will not be granting requests for preferred designs left in order notes nor sent by email. We will strictly ship these washi tapes at random.
- Returns and exchanges will not be accepted. By purchasing this grab bag, the customer is accepting that the washi tapes may not be to their taste, or may be a duplicate of what is already owned. We are again, not granting any requests.

- USA: Tariffs are prepaid and taken care of beforehand–no surprise fees at your door! Each shipment must be less than 800USD; orders exceeding 800USD will need to be separated.
- EU: Orders under €150 will ship under IOSS, with prepaid VAT & duties. Orders above €150 must pay VAT & duties upon delivery. Any excess tax charged will be refunded.

I know there was so much concern regarding the demand for these collections but I think this was something great for the newbies to TCMC and those of us that arent lucky enough to have subs. The washis were super adorable.

So sorry about the “adults” throwing a tantrum and leaving a bad review because they did not get what they wanted. I too had missed out on the mystery bag while waiting to checkout. No big deal. I got everything else I WANTED and much more than I need and that alone is a blessing in today’s world. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for giving us all the opportunity to try to get a mystery bag of older washi!! This is just like any other limited release, Black Friday sale, there isn’t an unlimited amount and sometimes you get it and sometimes you don’t!! I’m just glad we had the chance!!

This is not a place to leave your salty upset reviews because you didn’t get a grab bag. Black Friday is the same as buying in person. Sometimes you don’t get it! Be thankful for the food, friends and family surrounding you.

The system that you've created for a frenzy is insane. I know it'll end up in resale. Please just re-release these rolls as a v2.0.
TCMC has always been my go-to for stickers, washi tape, and so much more. Earlier this year, I had the TCMC x Ester collaboration pen and ink in my basket. I waited patiently—45 minutes—to check out right at release time, and once again, the same thing happened. I was placed “in line,” and before I could complete my purchase… it was sold out.
At this point, I’m coming to accept that this experience has become normal with TCMC’s release system. The excitement around new drops too often turns into disappointment and chaos. I truly dislike this process, and for a while, I stopped buying altogether because of it.
I gave it another chance today because I’m setting up my 2026 Hobonichi Cousin and I love the tabs and monthly stickers. When I saw the mystery gift, I allowed myself a little hope again. I waited 30 minutes for the 12:00 PM PT release, got into the queue by 12:01 PM, and by 12:03 PM… sold out.
So, while I can appreciate the marketing strategy—and Helen, you certainly know how to create a frenzy—I’m officially stepping away. There are plenty of other adorable sticker shops where I can purchase peacefully without the chaos.

I’ve been here since the very start of Black Friday as well, and it’s already been 12 minutes of refreshing the page — but nothing is changing. I’d really love to get them, but I don’t understand what’s causing the issue.
